Gracay is a small market town with all essential conveniences which include supermarkets (small and large), banks, bars, some very good restaurants, etc. The weekly market is held on Thursday mornings. There is a park and local sports facilities include, excellent oudoor swimming pool complex, tennis courts, basketball court, fishing and riding. There is also an excellent golf course (only 25 kms away).

Gracay is lucky to have an award winning boulangerie/patissierie only 1 minute from the house. There is a restaurant in the town square and another excellent restaurant only ten minutes away. |

The town of Gracay is situated in the Department of Cher, in the region of Berry. The Cher is on the easterly southern edge of the Loire valley. Nearby chateaux include Valencay, Chambord, Cheverny, Cour Cheverny, Blois, etc. The Cher is well renowned for its wines such as Reuilly (only 15kms away), Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. The famous cities of Tours, Chinon, Limoges, Orleans and Bourges are all within a leisurely drive from Gracay.

Gracay has excellent motorway connections (7kms from exit no 9 on the A20 autoroute) and it is only 2.5 hours drive from Paris. The journey time from Calais is less than five hours. London is only 5 hours away by Eurostar and TGV train from Vierzon (25km away).
